A Cup of Hibiscus Comfort: The Urban Shaman Twist

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup dried hibiscus petals OR 4 fresh flower petals 

1 1/2 cup water

1/4 tsp ground ginger or 1-inch cube of fresh ginger

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 

1/8 tsp ground cloves OR 1-2 fresh cloves

1/8 tsp cardamom 

2-3 slices of dried orange/citrus OR 2-3 slivers of orange peel 

DIRECTIONS:

Place all spices and hibiscus with water and bring to a boil, simmer for 7-10 minutes and serve hot! 

Optional

  • Honey or another natural sweetener/sugar alternative

  • A squeeze of Fresh Lemon (do not use if you're adding creamer)

  • Dash of creamer (vegan unsweetened or dairy unsweetened)

  • Vanilla bean (when simmered with the hibiscus it contributes a creamy texture and soothing aroma)
