TRAVEL: IMPACTING & ENRICHING OUR LIVES

“Traveling, it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”

-Ibn Battuta

Living in NYC we were exposed to a variety of cultures, cuisines, traditions, holidays, and languages, surprising each other with favorites and being grateful that our combined backgrounds were so diverse. We formed a bond together which instantly sparked an insatiable desire to explore and experience, see different perspectives, and embrace a new story to tell.

Some of our most memorable first dates were road trips through New York and surrounding states for the joy of seeing something new and tasting something different. We’ve been lucky enough to share that passion together and tried to include it throughout every stage of our lives. Traveling sometimes feels like testing the pool before jumping in, you dip your toes to start and get used to it, then slowly one body part at a time you’re in. We needed to unlock that level of confidence, starting with trips overseas that meant printing out maps and literally drawing our walking routes to road-tripping across 12 countries in 2 weeks just to take in the Christmas Markets of Europe.

Throughout the years, we’ve developed unique methods and routines that we use when traveling. From national to international, we’ve picked up tips and tricks while evolving our own to be as adaptable as the world around us. Our vision of travel embraces a local perspective from all paths, from walking the maze-like Izakaya Alleys in Japan to befriending the local artisan pasta maker in Italy, taking in the unexpected with an open mind.

When it comes to travel, finding your system from purchasing the trip to being on the trip lets you get into a comfortable routine and positive mindset so that you can take advantage of every moment. The eccentric travel style we embody respects our time as a precious commodity and honestly leaves us feeling deeply invigorated and inspired by the novelty of it all. We personally curate all of our itineraries, we’ve made full plans from transportation to hotels and we’ve made no plans, letting the day unfold naturally letting the mystery of where to sleep be a last-minute surprise.

There’s an art to itineraries, one of the most helpful tips we have to offer is to do some light research into that destination, YouTube can be a valuable tool for videos showing local and tourist guides in nearly every place. Once you’ve outlined the highlights that interest you, we’ll show you how to build a customized itinerary and what to watch so you can successfully evolve each time.

Being prepared also means learning what to pack, depending on where you're going,  you might start packing on stress instead of what you think you need to bring. Through trial and error, and many personal experiences with funny and sometimes not-so-funny accidents (shout out to Costa Rica!), we successfully created an effortless guide to help you focus on what you need!

We’re inspired by the unknown and hope you’ll enjoy the little stories we have to tell that we collected along with those we have yet to create!
